Account & Data Deletion

At SkilledHands, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data. If you no longer wish to use the SkilledHands app or our services, you can request the complete deletion of your account and associated data. This applies to both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store versions of our app.

1. How to Delete Your Account (Self-Serve)

The fastest and easiest way to delete your account is directly within the SkilledHands app. We recommend this option for immediate processing, and it complies with App Store and Google Play Store policies.

  1. Open the SkilledHands app on your device and log in.
  2. Go to your Profile or Settings section.
  3. Select Delete Account.
  4. Confirm the deletion request when prompted.

2. How to Request Deletion via Email

If you no longer have access to the app, you can request account deletion by contacting our support team:

  • Send an email to ask@skilledhands.app.
  • You must send this email from the email address that is registered to your SkilledHands account.
  • Include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line.

Our team will process your request within 14 days of receiving your email.

3. What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently erased from our active databases:

  • Your profile information (name, email, profile picture, contact details).
  • Authentication credentials and linked social logins (Google, Apple, etc.).
  • Your portfolio, including uploaded images and trade specializations.
  • Your saved preferences and settings.

4. What Data is Retained and For How Long

For legal, security, and dispute resolution purposes, we may retain certain data for a limited period after your account is deleted:

  • Transaction and Invoice Records: Retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and accounting laws.
  • Job History and Reviews: If you interacted with other users (e.g., posted a job or received a review), those records may be anonymized or retained to preserve the integrity of the platform and other users' records.
  • Server Backups: Deleted data may temporarily remain in encrypted, secure server backups for up to 30 days before being permanently overwritten.
